FIRST MEETING IN JUNE

Wednesday 1st June 2011

Tonight’s talk is “Culturing Micro Marine Algae” by Dr. Richard Pipe. Richard is in charge of the Marine Biological Association (M.B.A.) collection of micro-marine algae.  This collection is one of the largest in the world and some of the cultures have been maintained for over 100 years.  Richard will bring a microscope along this evening so we can observe some of the algae ourselves.  This will be a fascinating evening so come along and join in the fun.

Some micro algae and culture vats (not from the M.B.A.)

SECOND MEETING IN JUNE

Wednesday 8th June 2011

The "Short Talk" this evening will be on “Aquatic Plants” by our genuine expert, Bill Rundle.  Bill will be bringing some examples of plants he will be talking about and will put them up for auction.  Knowing the quality of Bill’s plants, this should be a great evening.
